Kate and Laura.
Kate and Laura met in 2021. Kate was running Kangaroo Slings in South Shropshire, and Laura had just taken over Telford slings, and had previously run Close To My Heart Slings. They were so excited to meet each other that they ended up creating The Shrewsbury Sling Clinic the same day, as a collaboration between them.
After some lovely happy times with The Shrewsbury Sling Clinic, it no longer made sense to split their attention between all of the different libraries, so a plan was formed to merge them into one service, that covered a larger area, that they could service better with 2 people, and The Cuddle Collective was born
Laura
Laura has worked with families for the last twenty years.
She lives with her family and their fearless feline leader Kitty Boo Boo.
Initially studying education and playwork and later lactation and birthwork Laura had gathered a great toolkit for supporting families before completing Slingababy Consultant training in 2016.
Kate
Kate worked as a Geophysicist all over the place for the best part of a decade, before settling down and having a little boy in 2019.
Struggling to access services, and then being caught in the pandemic lockdowns, she became passionate about baby wearing, creating community focused spaces online, founding a boutique baby wearing shop, a special occasion sling library, and a community sling library.
She qualified as a baby wearing consultant in 2021 with Slingababy and has been providing services across South Shropshire and Powys ever since.
